Le sel qui est comme is a live sound installation by Nichols that folds together binaural and hydraulic recordings of the old salt mines and hydraulic systems of the Ricote Valley. Their sonic vibrations are carried via transducers into the crevices of the AADK studio's rock face and its resonant metal staircase, whilst a live improvisation on the rock face with pickups and voice intervenes in the ebbs and flows of these tactile cross-currents.
